Ribbons & Bows {Real Baby Shower}

At the end of January, I hosted a baby shower for one of my closest friends, Andrea! (If you send me easy convos, you may have met her as she helps me respond to them!!)

When she found out they were expecting their second baby girl, I knew we needed to PINK this one out (her first daughter had all purple)! I had just finished a new “ribbons and bows” design for Suzanne of Fanciful Events (See her party HERE) and Andrea and I both loved it! We changed the colors a little to reflect Andrea’s style and then ran with the theme!

The Invite :

Originally I designed the invite for Suzanne with light blues, pinks, and light yellows…but Andrea loves purple, so that was a must, and the green tied it together! Now onto the party!!

The Party :

As the shower was a mid afternoon event, a sweets table and a few finger foods like mini quiches and cheese and crackers were plenty to keep the ladies attending happy!

I leaned on some of the amazing vendors I know to help make this a memorable party for my friend. First, I pulled out my two pink BlumeBoxes and BRAND NEW Cake pop inserts I have from them (I used mine to hold lollipops and these little inserts are life changers for a party lover…post coming on them soon!) then I emailed the two ribbon ladies I adore, Nancy from A to Zebra Celebrations and Stacy from She’s Kinda Crafty. Nancy made me this AMAZING ribbon table skirt! It’s extra long, so it can be a backdrop too! You could even order 2 of them and use one for each!!! Stacy is a ribbon wreath guru so I was thrilled she was able to whip on up for me! I was able to give BOTH the table skirt and wreath to the mom to use for decorations too! Brittany at Edible Details created cupcake toppers for the Ribbon’s and Bows Party from Suzanne, so I asked her to make some for me in the new colors! Why reinvent the wheel when it was so cute to begin with? Next, I hit up Shop Sweet Lulu for the cupcake stands and found these ridiculously darling tiny paper bread pans that I used to bake mini loaves for party favors! Last (but not least) I used some of my Pom Flair Poms (I had a few left from Charlotte’s Pom Piñata) to carry the decorations throughout the house!

I had fun with a few DIY activities too…I made the backdrop out of a white board covered in yarn and ribbons (and further adorned with the wreath from She’s Kinda Crafty).I created ribbon kissing balls for decorations and of course the toppers, tags, and some conversation cards to spread around the room! I also used 6″ wreaths and covered them with ribbons, leaving a lot of ribbon hanging and I used these to hang from the ceilings!

The favors were homemade cranberry sweet bread and lollipops! I wrapped the breads individually and put a favor tag on them that said “A little Bun from the Oven”.

Andrea is such a sweet and thoughtful person, that I wanted her to have a beautiful shower for her soon to be beautiful new daughter! I can’t wait to meet her!

A huge thank you to the wonderful vendors who helped make this day memorable!
