Luau Party Planning

This summer has been flying by at a breakneck speed! About a month ago, my daughter asked me how much longer until her birthday and I replied “Oh, a few months or so…” then it occurred to me that it was only a month away! I haven’t ever waited so long to start planning, but better late than never, right?? When I asked what type of party she wanted this year, she said “A Barbie Party…A Swim Party…a Beach Party”. I knew right away that the “barbie” came from the Barbie cake she has been yearning for every time we pass the bakery where that Barbie Cake sits in all of it’s girly glory! Then she saw a Barbie Luau Cake on Pinterest and her mind was set. A Beach Barbie Luau. We got busy right away with our Luau Party Planning!

I started on the invitation, after my almost 6 year old drew me a “sample” of how she wanted it to look. Flowers, shells, and waves going around the text. I hand illustrated the graphics (which will be going into the shop very soon) and I then converted them to vector designs to color them in. I included an RSVP card like we did last year, as she gets to be an “active participant” in the RSVP process and it builds so much excitement for the party! I love doing RSVP cards for her small parties!

Of course, we also created an inspiration board which is a big help in Luau Party Planning! Here is our inspiration so far from Pinterest ! We have a lot of fun ideas planned with crafts and swimming, so now I need to hustle and do my own party crafting on decor! Keep an eye on Facebook and Instagram as I share the work in progress!
