Summertime BBQ and Avery

This Spring, I received an email from Avery asking if I would like to review some of their products. I replied in all honesty and told them that I LOVE Avery, but I ONLY use the full label paper. It’s so practical and I can use it with my circle punches or straight edge cutter to create a multitude of projects. I also told them that when I looked for templates to use for other products, I only saw Microsoft Word templates…and well, I don’t design in Word. I explained that I would love to try out more of their products, but I needed templates that went with my design programs (Adobe Creative Suites).  The reply was so exciting, she sent me a list of Avery products that DID HAVE templates as .AI and .PSD files. Apparently I was always looking in the wrong place on their website! When I opened my box of goodies, I was surprised that there were so many things with Adobe Templates, but my favorite was the Kraft Paper Stickers! That you can’t make with a full sheet of label paper, friends!

With Summer upon us and July 4th right around the corner, I decided that I should use my Avery products for a Summertime BBQ Post! I used the watercolor BBQ design that I used for this FREE INVITATION and carried it through my party designs! While a good summer BBQ needs yummy food and sides, it also needs some easy to eat desserts that can be enjoyed while laying around the pool. Cookies, Mini Cupcakes, Watermelon and Marshmallow Skewers, chocolate covered pretzels and “s’mores kits” filled our sweet table (and bellies).

I used the Kraft Stickers for the S’mores Box Labels (download your design here), the tags (download your design here) to tie onto the boxes and to the top of the apothecary jar, the smaller round stickers for little to-go bags, and the tent cards to label the food!

The thank you Tag Design can was printed on these 2″ glossy white circles. I love the way these printed so crisp and bright! Simple BBQ Table 8B

When printing your designs, it’s best to figure in a few extra sheets to get your design lined up correctly. I had to adjust my margins a bit and the designs as well, so I ended up with about 2 test prints per design before getting it right. Also know that sometimes, printers may “slip” a little on certain paper, so take that into account. Overall, the products cut down on my time punching and hand cutting, making it really quick and easy to create a  more detailed and thought out party with custom labels! I hope you can use my watercoler BBQ designs + Avery Labels for your favorite BBQ this summer!! Enjoy!

*Avery supplied me with some product to to try out and review on my blog, but the content and opinions in this post are mine. =)
