Back to School Routine Printable

This morning I told my sweet girl that I wasn’t ready for summer to end… she replied “I am excited to go to school, I can’t wait for Monday!”.

Whether I am we are ready or not, summer is coming to an end and we will have to get back on schedule for school. No one in this house is what I would call a morning person and we all have to take a little time getting up and going, and one of the things I struggle with most is fussing at the kids on school mornings. They are tired, I am tired, and I have to ask them to put on shoes about 74,510 times. Once we get in a good routine, it’s fine, but getting started can be hard. I want their days to start with happiness and positivity, not a cranky mom who is tired of repeating the things they have to do to get ready, so I decided to do something about it!

Ta-Da! A printable Back to School Routine chart! Does my 7 year old know to brush her teeth? Yes…does she go do it without being reminded? Not often. Now I can ask them to check the chart and see what still needs done.

I printed my routine and framed it in an 8″x8″ frame to place in the kids bathroom. They each have their own colored dry erase marker and can put a check by each task they finish!  The great thing is that you can simply wipe and reuse it every day! I hope this helps to make mornings a little happier and our kids a little more responsible for themselves this year!
