Hello and Happy Monday!! I am so excited to share my first project with Shutterfly! They are putting together ways that you can use Shutterfly to create the perfect baby shower, from invites to decor and I was asked to participate!
I love the idea of party items or supplies that can be reused later on, and when it comes to a baby shower, how great is it to use meaningful items that can also go into the nursery! I decided to created whimsical illustrations and watercolors that could be printed onto canvas or as mounted wall art and are meant to double as a guest book and artwork for the nursery. I still have the guest books from my baby showers and the love that people pour out into them is so welcome to any mama to be. With sleepless nights, a multitude of diaper changes, figuring out a feeding schedule, and everything else that worries a new parent, seeing the love and support of family and friends hung right on the wall can be so encouraging (and cute!).
I hand illustrated four different gender neutral designs that can be downloaded for free at the bottom of this post to create your own Guest Book Art. The first one is “Balloons”. I had this design printed on a 16″x20″ canvas with a white frame.
The baby shower guests can sign and leave little notes inside the balloons, creating a unique piece of love-filled art for the nursery! I suggest using an artist pen (found at any craft store) to write, so the guests can write small and not worry about the ink smearing.
The next design I illustrated and painted for a baby shower guest book is a personal favorite… The Village. Have you heard the phrase, “It takes a village”? As a mother of two, I can tell you that this is true! It takes a village…people who can celebrate those beautiful baby milestones with you, and people you can call when you need a little help or advice.
The Village Art was printed on a 16″x20″ canvas (This was my favorite option of the four I did) and I placed the JPG at the top of the canvas, so the baby’s “village” could sign and leave notes at the bottom. How amazing for any child to be able to look at their wall and see all of the love and support they have?
Design #3 is one I created for those little libraries. Sign the Spines and create an art piece for the reading corner! Hand illustrated and painted, this design was printed as Mounted Wall Art on an 10″x14″ (a nice frameless design).
The last design was for the “up – all – night” party animal…Ok… they are all up all night, but a sweet bunting is a perfect addition to any nursery. Write inside of the bunting flags and sign them for baby! This one was printed as Mounted Wall Art in 16″x20″.
To Recreate these designs for a baby shower, simply follow these easy steps!
1) Download your Free Guest Book Art JPGs HERE (For personal use only)
2) Head over to Shutterfly and go to Canvas Prints OR Mounted Wall Art
3) Click Personalize and choose your size (I suggest 16″x20″), and make sure the layout is vertical with a small white border, then upload the saved Art from your computer and center it without adding text.
4) Now click next and ORDER!
If you have any questions about the options I chose or have any trouble, please let me know!
