I haven’t posted in weeks. Part of the reason was that I needed a minute to focus on my work and family, and social media was not a priority. Part of it is because I felt like I didn’t have the right words. Yes we are all in the same storm, but I realize we are in different boats. I also think part of me was waiting for the world to cheer up… yet here we are. My heart breaks for those in pain right now. I also realize I can’t wait for the world to cheer up... I have to be a part of it. We all do. We have to be better. Stronger. In solidarity. With love. Compassion. Joy. Kindness. Understanding. We have to be better for our kids and their kids. I know posting about art on social media isn’t “change”, but it’s the gift I have to share, so I will share it as long as you are here. I’ll share it when I can in the hopes that it inspires creativity over sadness, brings joy or peace instead of anxiety, and maybe it will cheer up a tiny moment in one person’s day. This week I’ll be listening and learning. I’ll be muting my feed so i can hear more clearly. Praying for hope and change. Be back soon. 💕

Through the worry and questioning, we’ve tried to continually look for the good and seek out the “gifts” that these days have given. We know this is not forever, and want to find the things we hope to keep from this. Over the last few months, sharing my studio space as a classroom, I have not had the room to work on some of the big canvases I was doing before... but it has brought me back to my first art love... watercolor. I love trying new things and working on big beautiful canvases... but stretching myself creatively as the water flows across space is something I didn’t even know I was missing. 💙 #workinprogress #coastalart #watercolorcoastal #coastalwatercolor

Between school time, work time, and art time we’ve been spending a lot of time during the day in my little home studio so I set aside a little time to clean out and reorganize this space (again) to to fit our new routines. It’s more open, cleaner, and when my kiddos are on video calls for school no one sees me working behind them 😂🤷🏼‍♀️ #newnormal #workfromhome
