My kids parties are certainly my FAVORITE ones to post about! They are so personal, and this one in particular was so very sweet. My B.A.B.Y. turned one. I am STILL not ready a month later {read more about that here}, but it’s a fact of life and I am loving having a “toddler” {thought I still call him “baby”}.
His party was held in December and we were joined by many of our friends and family members to make the day extra special {including my AMAZING FRIEND Courtney Vickers who photographed the party!!} . Wanting a simple, sweet, and traditional theme, while still choosing something HE LOVED was a bit difficult, but once I chose balloons everything took off! I included ticking stripes, and BIG ROUND balloons along with simple type and a soft color palette to create the party! See the Invite Inspiration Post HERE
I made the cakes and cupcakes (even making the cakes BLUE for a fun surprise) and ordered the AMAZING COOKIES {seriously people….let me tell you something….it is HARD HARD HARD to find cookies that are PRETTY AND TASTE GOOD! On the advice of some party girls I tried 2 different companies, and both Bees Knees Creative and Better Bit Of Butter KNOCKED them out of the park!! Now I see why they came recommended! The little cookie bites from Better Bit Of Butter were gone FAST and those big balloons from Bees Knees – AWESOME}
We played Pin the String on the Balloon, which was just adorable! The kids pinched their eyes closed {we decided blindfolding toddlers could be a bad idea} and helped spin each other…it was so cute to watch them work together to play!
For more details, you can see the party feature on Hostess With the Mostess {I know…EEEKKKK, so excited about that}.
It was a wonderful day that we will treasure for years and years to come.
I will now OVERWHELM YOU WITH PHOTOS! I did put them into storyboards to try and make it less trouble for you to look at them all, but I am not sure it helped.

What an amazing birthday party! All the guests are precious of course!
Awww! What a beautiful and lovely birthday! The pictures are so sweet and I looove the picture of Holden’s little feetsies! 🙂 Thanks for sharing with us! Blue cake=awesome, by the way.
Kori, This party is oozing with your talent and creativity! Holden is such a lucky boy! Great details, love the blue cake and the gorgeous photos!
Every last detail is so adorable! Love how the balloon theme was carried through to all the “air” related ideas (sky blue color scheme & even “circles of air” snacks)! Truly a happy birthday.
LOVE LOVE LOVE this party!!! I’ve just posted about it on my blog: http://brilliantbash.wordpress.com/2011/01/27/brilliant-bash-big-balloon-birthday/
Congrats on the fabulous birthday bash! 🙂
Such a sweet and stylish party for the cutest little baby boy!
Too, too cute…cheese on straws, blue cake. Love it! And now, for the random question of the day, I noticed the picture of the water bottles (I think in the feature on hwtm) – can you tell me what brand those water bottles are? Told you it was random, but they’re so much prettier than any others that I’ve seen.
Thank you!! I used Aquafina because they have a nice flat area in the middle of the bottle, so they are better for putting the labels on! I love random! =)
Hi there,
Absolutely gorgeous cupcakes! Love them!! If you wouldn’t mind me asking, is that a buttercream frosting on the cupcakes, piped with a close star tip or is it royal icing? The icing is so clean and crisp. Gorgeous!! I would love to know your piping and icing technique.
Blessings,
Tiffany
