At the end of last summer, we bought a new home and moved to a new city {only an hour away from the old one…but still}. My favorite color is yellow, so when I saw the exterior of our new home was a honey color, I immediately fell in love! During the move, I started daydreaming about a housewarming to have our friends come and visit and see the new home. The late summer euphoria combined with the new home euphoria brought me a sense of warmth and happiness that has continued ever since! I decided to convey this with a Honey & Wheat themed open house – warmth, sweetness, AND my favorite color! YES YES and YES! See my yummy inspiration board based on food HERE.
These were the party invites, better shown in THIS POST.
It was my favorite event so far {other than my wedding of course} because it was a celebration that centered on our whole family and new beginnings, blessed by the presence of friends. Shortly after the party came the fall…Thanksgiving, a baby shower for my BFF, my little guys first birthday, family trips, family in town, Christmas, Valentines, and then more family in town. Knowing what was ahead, I told my amazing friend Courtney {of Courtney Vickers Photography} that we shouldn’t even worry about the photos {holiday’s were even crazier for her with Holiday photo sessions} until Spring.
So, today, we sat down and went through the {Sweet as Honey} party photos and euphoria overtook me again! It may be that it is 78 degrees here in Florida, but looking at the sunny, warm, natural feeling elements captured in her amazing photography made me decide once and for all…..BRING ON SPRING!
I can’t WAIT to share the details and all of these photos including ones of the honey sampling, beautiful cookies, homemade harvest cakes, and adorable favors for the little ones who came. But, there are a lot to go through, so here is a little sneak peek of what’s to come!
Now who wants to see the rest?!?!?!
