We spent yesterday afternoon decorating my little girl’s school valentine box! It’s covered in pink paper, washi tape, hand drawn flowers and peace signs, and heart doilies…pretty much anything that screams 6 year old girl! I had “theme” ideas, but she prefers a mash up of creativity to a theme, so I let her roll with that!
I can’t wait for her to come home on Friday so I can see what fills her box. Last year, the valentines the kids gave each other were pretty much the sweetest things ever! To see kids feel so proud to GIVE something is pretty special and something to be celebrated in itself. They are so excited for their friends to see what they are making or bring them, they can’t wait to show each other their cards, and to give them away. Every year I hear people talk about how Valentine’s Day is a “Made Up Holiday”…and maybe it is, but something that gets people excited to give, spread love, and spend time with one another is pretty darn fantastic in my book! Check out the NEW DIY Network Valentines over on DIYNetwork.com this year! The cuties I designed for them last year are still available, these have just been added to the group!

Ahhh…the GoGo Squeeze Valentine! I designed fruit valentines to share on Craftaholics Anonymous last year and they were such a hit, I did a new variation of the design for this year! My kids LOVE GoGo Squeeze, and it’s always nice to have a healthy alternative for the little ones!
I have a big soft spot for gumballs, so when Sweetworks sent me their Celebration Gumballs, I kind of felt like I was in candy heaven! This is such a great valentine for kids and adults!
I know how much you all love your pastries and baked goods…so this tag is for you sweet things out there!
Now for the one that makes my little artist heart happy… a Valentine for the creative! Pens, pencils, or paintbrushes spark creativity and imagination!
I hope you find the perfect valentines for you and your family to give this year!!
I so want to win. What a wonderful book to have. I imagine looking at this for wonderful color ideas and pattern ideas to inspire my creativity for my art etsy shop!
