Operation Shower – Under the Sea

Posted on Tuesday, September 6th, 2011

When the amazing, sweet, and talented Amy Belle Isle {Operation Shower’s Chief Event Organizer} asked if I could work with her for some printables for the Operation Shower Event in Connecticut, I couldn’t wait to get started!! The shower was held in the Naval Submarine Base in New London, CT…so an “Under the Sea” Theme was perfect and Amy asked if we could use the one from the shop!

I know I have mentioned it before, but Operation Shower is something I believe in all the way to my core. To be expecting a new life is a feeling I had the joy of knowing twice…and both times with anticipation, excitement, questions, uncertainty, and a bit of fear. Going through such a drastic life altering change (and BTW, it’s life altering with each baby, not just the first) can be unnerving – until you know how many people love and support you as a mom. The mission of Operation Shower will make you smile : {From their site}

For military families who are expecting a new baby and are experiencing or have recently experienced deployment, we accomplish our mission through:

  • hosting amazing baby showers
  • delivering high-quality products
  • creating a shared experience
  • partnering with organizations to provide value-added services, such as health-related information

I mean does it get any more amazing?….oh, yes. It does…this particular shower was also hosted/sponsored by the {PGA} Travelers Championship , Pottery Barn Kids, Birdies for the Brave, Care.com, and Travelers! I know…seriously!

Just take a moment and look at these photos….I am so incredibly proud to have been a small part of this event!

Cute cotton candy “Fish Bowls” from Sweets Indeed!

Ok, when Amy told me she was going to put a mask and snorkel on a floral arrangement, I couldn’t wait to see the outcome….this is DARLING! I love it!!

Do you recognize these adorable fish? YES! Renee from Bees Knees Creative used her super talents to create them again for this event! So cute!

And here is what it’s all about!! The guests of honor were showered with love and gifts from strollers, to diaper bags, and even each received a new crib from Pottery Barn Kids – yes, you heard me correct. Totally amazing! Here are some photos of the moms to be {and some very new moms}

I hope this post made you all smile as much as it did me! An amazing organization, amazing sponsors, and some truly amazing moms and moms to be….make one amazing baby shower!

There were some other famous party faces in the mix too, Chris from Celebrations at Home and Stephanie from Couture Parties were both on hand to make this an even more fabulous party!!
