Charlotte’s Pink Flower Party {Real Party}

I am so thrilled to share my daughter’s Pink Flower Party with you!! Of course there were things I planned with the decor that didn’t work out due to wind…but when my newly turned 4 year old ran up half way through, hugged me and said “Mom, this is the BEST birthday ever“, I knew it was a smashing success! That’s all I needed to hear.

When I received the photos back from my amazingly talented friend and photographer, Courtney Vickers {Photography} I was blown away by how beautifully she was able to capture everything and I couldn’t wait to share it! I know there are a LOT of photos in this post, so I will try to keep the type to a minimum so you can get through it!

After she decided she wanted a “Pink Flower Party” I thought it would be fun to make flowers with her….we ended up making almost every DIY flower we could find a tutorial for from cupcake liner flowers, to crepe paper flowers, to flowers with the printable pattern paper, to several styles of fabric flowers….and here is the party that evolved!

We started the day with brunch –

How cute is this pink gingham runner from A to Zebra Celebrations?

OK I have been waiting for an excuse to use my Pastry Pedestals and after settling on brunch…waffle flowers made perfect sense!

After Brunch, The kids were given bug catchers and left for a nature hike with my husband {where they stumbled upon a big group of crickets and were all able to fill their catchers}! I didn’t want to set the beautiful desserts from Bees Knees Creative outside to melt to early, so I took the nature walk as a chance for me to place the sweets outside by the pool.

The girls were also given rosette barrette hair clips I made using the fabric rosettes made by myself and my sweet friend Amy {Buggie and Jellybean}!

After the walk, we did presents and then everyone came outside for the pinata and the cake! A week prior to the party, my daughter began to really beg for a pinata…my options were to buy one a Target and HOPE it kind of matched, or to try may hand at making one. I haven’t ever tried to paper mache  anything….except maybe in elementary school, but I thought….worse case, I throw it away and end up at at the store. I’m happy to report that I didn’t have to throw my pinata away and I thought it turned out really cute! Using a 36″ balloon to paper mache and some seriously sweet poms from Pom Flair, I created a BIG Pom Pinata! Now that’s perfect for a flower party…right?

My husband is such a great sport, so when I couldn’t find a good place to hang the pinata…..he volunteered to hold it! We joked that he may end up on America’s Funniest Home Video, but luckily he didn’t get hit at all!

Next, DESSERT!

These “brownie toppers” from Two Sugar Babies are seriously perfect for dressing up Rice Crispies Treats!

The darling striped table runners were from A to Zebra Celebrations as well, and I layed a strip of burlap right in the middle with rosettes hot glued to them! I loved the way it all turned out and now I can keep my runners “flower free” to use at the next party!

How about these painted cake pops? If you have seen anything from Renee from Bee’s Knee’s Creative...then you may not be surprised…but she is just amazing! I love that I am close enough to pick up desserts…the cake, cupcakes, and cake pops are all her creations!

And now for the full table!! The banner was intended to hang over the cake…but the cake was so beautiful and the wind was SO STRONG, that I was sure it would get caught in the wind, rip down and take a nose-dive into the cake…so I had to make a last minute decision to keep the cake out of harms way!

Check out the wording Melissa from Oh Fiddlesticks used with for the back of her Rosette Tank! This is really a perfect ending!

{Happy Birthday Princess! WE LOVE YOU!!}

    The waffle flowers have to be the CUTEST thing I have ever seen! I am going to have to order a Pastry Pedestal set just to do that every morning. Adorable party and happy birthday to your sweet little girl. Looks like she had a great time.

    I love this – every detail looks amazing!!! All of the flowers look beautiful! Did you find a tutorial for those fabric flowers on the burlap and the flowers that look like a kissing ball of pink peonies in the vase with the green balls? If so, are you willing to share where you found them?

  4. Ahhhh…..what a refreshing party with so many fun “out of the box” elements to gush over. The painted cake pops are AMAZING! LOVE Renee! Every detail is darling Kori. The handmade flowers done by both you and your daughter are precious. I love that she was able to be a part of the preparations. The unexpected splash of burlap, the gorgeous detailing on the cupcakes, using “brownie” toppers on rice krispy treats, the homemade pinata, rosette barrettes and of course your clever use of The Pastry Pedestal™ for waffle flowers…LOVE it all!! Awesome job with everything!! Happy Birthday sweet Charlotte! *wink*

    You definitely realize how to bring an issue to light and make it
    important. More and more people need to check this out and understand
    this side of your story. I was surprised that you aren’t more popular
    because you most certainly have the gift.
